Instant Ragi Drink | Finger Millet Recipe

One drink that keeps you cool from the inside - Loaded with probiotics, the magic taste of finger millet (aka ragi), and garnished with cumin and curry leaf seasoning. On days when we do a lot of gardening in the backyard, this is our go-to breakfast - quick and easy to make and is light on you. For a punch of spiciness, enjoy this with some chopped onions, sliced green chilli, or raw mango spiced with red chilli peppers.
Ingredients
4 tbsp Ragi flour
1 cup Buttermilk
2 cups Water or as needed
1 tsp Cumin seeds/Jeera
1 Green chilli chopped
4 - 5 curry leaves
2 tsp cooking oil
Instructions
Prep Time: 2 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Servings: 3
Place a slightly deep pot (6" depth) on a very low flame. Add 4 tbsp ragi flour and start roasting. It will soon start to smell aromatic

To this add 1 cup of water. Keep stirring and cook until the mix turns glossy

Turn off the stove and let the mix cool
Once cooled, add 1 cup buttermilk and stir well

Now, add 1 cup extra water or as needed to make it thin
Let's season the drink. Warm 2 tsp oil
Add cumin seeds/Jeera and let it splutter. Add chopped green chilli and 4-5 curry leaves
Add the seasoning to the ragi drink.
Ragi buttermilk drink is ready. Pour it in a glass and enjoy. For more spicy taste, try it with some chopped onions, spiced raw mango.
