Red Lentil Vegetable Kebab Recipe | Air Fryer | Pan Fried | Masoor Kebab | Vegan

I love this versatile Kebab recipe! A great snack, an amazing sandwich filling and a healthy burger patty! It is rich in Protein from Lentils, Fiber from Oats and all the goodness from Vegetables. In this post, I have shown both Air fried and Pan fried methods in detail.

The mint, fenugreek leaves, green chilli, carrots are home grown making this dish even more fresh and tastier... more like garden 2 table 👩‍🌾 🙂... In the coming days, I plan to write about how I grow these vegetables and greens in my backyard organically. Super happy to grow some of my own food and use them in my kitchen.



  • 2 cups Red Lentil or Masoor dal

  • 1/2 cup Cabbage

  • 1 Carrot

  • ½ cup Methi or Fenugreek leaves

  • ¼ cup Coriander or Cilantro leaves

  • 2 Green chilli

  • 1 inch Ginger

  • 3 cloves Garlic

  • 1 medium Onion

  • ⅓ cup oats flour (Dry grind oats if you don't have oats flour. Use almond flour if you prefer gluten free option)

  • 1 medium Potato boiled and mashed

  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder

  • 1 tsp Cumin/Jeera powder

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Lemon juice


  • Soak 2 cups Red lentil or Masoor dal in enough water for 2 hours

  • After 2 hours, drain all the water

  • Add all the red lentils, cabbage, carrot, methi/fenugreek leaves, coriander leaves/cilantro, green chilli, ginger, garlic, onion into a food processor.

  • Process using a chopping blade to a coarse consistency, mixing in between.

  • Now, add the oats flour, red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt to the food processor. Blend further to achieve desired consistency (as in the video)

  • Transfer to a mixing bowl

  • Now, add the boiled and mashed potato and lemon juice

  • Mix it well.

  • Now you are ready to make a round shaped kebabs or tikkis.

Air-Fry method

  • Pre-heat the air fryer at 350 F for 5 min.

  • Put parchment paper on the air-fryer basket and place the kebabs.

  • Air-Fry for 15-20 minutes.

  • Now, flip and brush with very little oil and air fry for 10 more mins or until done.

  • Air fried kebabs are now ready with just a tsp of oil.

Pan-Fry Method

  • Take a flat pan.

  • Add 1 tsp oil to the pan.

  • Place the kebabs on the pan and fry them adding oil as needed.

  • Cook until done - golden brown on both sides.
